Signs of Gestational Diabetes?
I had pretty healthy pregnancies with my 2 girls, but this time I feel totally different. I can be doing fine one minute, and then the next I feel like I'm going to crash. The best way to describe it is that I feel like the energy is being sucked right out of me, and that I could almost pass out. Then if I eat or drink something sweet, it comes right back. I am just going on a lot of symptoms my diabetic grandmother had before she found out. I've been peeing and drinking a lot, and I have no appetite anymore.Could this be a signs of gestational diabetes?.

Re: Signs of Gestational Diabetes?
This is what I found so far.....
Symptoms
Increased thirst Increased urination Weight loss in spite of increased appetite Fatigue Nausea and vomiting Frequent infections including those of the bladder, vagina, and skin Blurred vision Note: Usually there are no symptoms.
Signs and tests
An oral glucose tolerance test between the 24th and 28th weeks of pregnancy is the main test for gestational diabetes.

Re: Signs of Gestational Diabetes?
My mom said (she had it with both kids) that the worse thing for her was peeing every 15 minutes. And she gained weight the first half ofher pregnancy but then could not keep it on (she gained a total of 3 pounds with both of us) and this was while she would sit down and eat half a gallon of ice cream a night! SHe said it was brutal trying to eat that many calories.

Re: Signs of Gestational Diabetes?
If you ate something sweet that would make you tired, not give you more energy. Maybe you arent eating enough meals. Maybe try 6 smaller meals and see if there is a difference

Re: Signs of Gestational Diabetes?
Sounds like hypoglycemia - I agree with the PP - more frequent small meals. Sugary things can also make it worse, which is why diabetic eating habits can help.
