Doea Anyone Know What Part Of Huntington Spring Road at Canyon Street Is?
TIA, someone I know MAY look at an apartment there and wanted to know if this was a decent/nice part of Huntington, or not a good area.

That is right across 110 from the Kmart/Old Navy shopping center, and maybe one block in.
The area is so-so. The further north you go the area gets nicer--but I have a friend who lives a few blocks south of that road and is very adament about getting her children out of there. She doesn't feel safe.

Thanks for your reply, I do appreciate it. After I posted I tried looking up Spring Road and saw a few houses online that looked very pretty with nice surroundings, so now I am confused

I think it's an OK area, still kind of part of the village. but like PP said few blocks south is bad (3 shootings in a yer in front of Jack Abrams School) - but also on the other side of 110.
If I were single or newly married - I would rent there.

It is probably the exact border, IMO, of where the "nicer" part of Huntington Village begins. There are definitely some very nice houses, nice young families moving in, more pride in ownership, etc. Have your friend look at the apt, check out the area, and then drive through the area again at night. Only he/she will know if they feel comfortable and safe.
