want to get a Wii..
So I am thinking of getting a Wii but know very little about it. I want to use it for excercise mainly. Maybe the wii fit or perhaps the EA active or Biggest loser..what do i need? Do you need different controls or just the ones it comes with?

Re: want to get a Wii..
I have wii fit (with balance board), wii active with the resistance bands and biggest loser.
For biggest loser I would suggest a yoga mat of somesort if you are doing it on HW floors. You don't need the balance board with biggest loser either.
I like them all, although I got bored of them rather quickly.

Re: want to get a Wii..
I have wii fit plus and Jillian Michael's personal training. My advice to you regarding the wii is this...it is a good fill in on days where you only have 20-30 minutes to get in a workout and you don't want to spend that time driving to the gym. I have not found it to be a good exercise program on it's own. You will probably get bored with it after some time and it's also just not intense enough for dramatic weight loss. I use it upon occasion and found it to be a great kick start to my workout. But I would not recommend it for a long term sole exercise plan.
Hope that made sense.

Yea ITA- its good for fill ins and its alot of fun but as far as a serious exercise machine, its really not going to replace a treadmill any time soon

Re: want to get a Wii..
I have the Wii Fit with the balance board. I did it consistently for about a month, 3 times a week. But since then (almost a year ago) I haven't used it once. I got really bored with it.

Re: want to get a Wii..
I have the Wii and used Wii Active which worked great for me, I lost over 50 pounds exercising using the Wii Active and Wii More Workouts. Now, I just got the Wii fit plus and started doing it yesterday, it is okay so far but not as intense as the Wii Active workouts, I used to get a great workout from the Active's. I am currently at my goal weight but will be using the Wii Fit Plus for more toning and strengthing. I think it's a pretty good system overall and it does Work.

Re: want to get a Wii..
thanks all for your replies. i understand what you girls are saying about not depending on it as a total excise regime. i just need something right now to get my body moving at least a little bit. i just had my 2nd child and with a 2.5yr toddler, i can't leave the house to walk around let alone exercise tho, i do hope for lovelybride's result
