Can you recommend a restaurant?
My father's unveiling is coming up soon. Only about 8 people, 7 of us are out-of-town. The cemetary is at Farmingdale, right off Route 109.
We don't have anyone's house to go to afterwards so I was thinking of making dinner reservations at a nice, local restaurant.
Can anyone recommend something?
Thanks

Beth, what's your budget? Are you looking for low key, or steakhouse or sushi perhaps?
Give me some ideas. I know you are a veggie.

Something in between... not a diner, but not a steakhouse. Something with a varied menu because we have DH and I are veggies, and my one brother is vegan but my aunt and mom are meat-eaters.

Re: Can you recommend a restaurant?
There is so little around there. There are a few restaurants on Main St in Farmingdale but I don't love any of them enough to recommend them.
There is one in Plainview that may be just what you need but it's sports oriented.
Great menu though and really good food. FM if you want more info. It would be on your way back from the cemetary just north.

There is nothing good over there by the cemetaries for Dinner--
HOwever- There is Cirella's down on RT. 110... It is Italian and would be perfect. The foos is pretty good..
There is also Four and BLackstone Steakhouse. All on 110 going towards Huntington.

This would probbaly be my short list too. All are good, although the steakhouse may not work for you. A bit further up on 110, there is also Frederick's and Legal Seafood and even Cheese Cake Factory.
This time last year, my mil was buried in Farmingdale, and we went to Four for lunch.

You could also head west to Massapequa (Ciao Baby, Hudsons Mill, Buteras) Wantagh (Thom Thom) and a bunch of other places.

Re: Can you recommend a restaurant?
I wonder if its still there...and of course I cannot remember the name but it was a little italian restaurant right on 109 a little east of main. Maybe someone on here knows the name. I used to eat there for lunch when I worked on Bi-county blvd in farmingville.

I agree with all of these. There is also Rosewoods which is very nice. I think Blackstone has a private room and they have fabulous sushi and a great fish menu.
