Room with no window
The room DH will be using as his office is in our basement doesnt have a window, but we would like to give the feel of a window so it doesnt seem so closed in. can anyone suggest a way to make it seem like there is a window in this room.
This is DHs office so he wouldnt want anything too feminine.
I saw this JCP LINK maybe this behind his desk may give the feel of a window? not sure if DH will think it is too feminine though.

I've seen old windows painted to look like there's a pretty view outside (where there is really no window). My mom has bought one a craft fair and we found another at a garage sale. AND if you or anyone you know can paint, people have old window on the curb for garbage pickup all the time.. so you can make one!
I don't have pictures of hers, but here a few examples of what I'm talking about that I found online

I'd do a mirror.
Perhaps one of the reclaimed window frames that has the glass replaced with mirror.

You can put those scrolls on a mirror or on a light box to mimic a window.

i love these that is probably the direction i would go...
Definitely check with DH before you go ahead, though. For me, I hate those things. Especially if it's just reflecting the windowless room back at me. It makes it doubly depressing...

I've seen some HGTV-type shows where they put up curtains on the wall to make it look like there's a window behind it that you just can't see... it wouldn't let any extra light in, but might fool the eye.

Where did you find those ? I Love them !
I just googled the images-- but I ALWAYS see them at street/craft fairs... You can also check antique shops and etsy.
