Wondering if you ladies can help me?
Hi all!
I used to come on this board before I conceived my daughter. I have PCOS and went through different steps to get pregnant. Now I am taking a biology class and we have to choose a topic to write about.
Infertility has always fascinated me because there can be so many reasons women have a hard time getting pregnant and now there are so many options. It was the most interesting topic to me throughout my class. I would like to write a thesis paper on this topic but dont know where to begin.
Do any of you have any ideas. Any new treatments, discoveries, finds, etc that you know about? I thought the best place to get the most accurate information was this board.
I wish you all the best of luck..I know what it is like. If anyone can offer any feedback, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks so much!

I think that's an excellent topic. I also think it's highly important to raise awareness.
IDK about a topic specifically. But i can say that DH came home the other day... he was telling me all about this IVF artivle he read. IDK where it was from or any of that... but the idea of it was that there are SOOO many people having infertility problems and opting for IVF... that they actually think this is going to a major norm in the future... that sex will no longer be for procreation but just for pleasure and IVF will be used more for reproduction. I didn't read it... and it sounded a little off beat to me.... but all i keep hearing about are infertility issues and mc problems... so i can't help but say..... maybe.

you can look into how immune issues play a major role in fertility and recurrent m/c. esp with PCOS.
PCOS is such a multi-faceted issue with so many different symptoms, its almost like its just a blanket statement for anyone with hormonal/ovulatory issues.

I think you need to narrow your focus to write a paper. Infertility is such a broad topic. You might want to focus on PCOS and its causes/symptoms and how they can contribute to infertility. You can go into PCOS and higher rates of miscarriage as well as difficulty with conceiving.

I would TOTALLY write about immune treatment. You may even be able to interview Dr Braverman(vendor on this board-the ONLY DR doing this on LI) I have a LOT of info on this. Look into Dr. Beer-he was the pioneer and has a ton of info on his site. This was an area of medicine that was considered "quackish" but now hundreds of thousands of women have gotten and STAYED pregnant because of this. Traditional Dr's still poo poo the ideas but they worked for me. I've got two toddlers to prove it! (after 5 miscarriages)

you can interview me if you want - i have two immune issues 
feel free to FM.
also i see dr. braverman who both uncovered the issues and is treating it. you should DEF interview him if you can since he is one of only a few doctors in the country that specialize specifically in immune issues and infertility/recurrent m/c.
