Stupid Question--
Does anyone hang their laundry to dry?
We don't have a dryer right now, and there is a line in our laundry/utility room...
I've never done this before....do I have to get clothes pins? Can I just put them on the line?

You can drape over the line. Might take a little longer to dry.
I use clothespins when I hang outside.

constant fight between myself and my MIL.... i drape everything (except the "lay flat to dry" stuff) over the line... she insists on using hangers and clothespins....

I actually have a drying rack that BBB sells. I don't have room for a line but I dry a lot of my cloths on it. I don't like to put a lot of our things in the dryer. I find they last longer.

I have lines in my basement and I hang a lot of stuff that I don't want to put in the dryer to avoid excess shrinking, fading, etc. I hang shirts on hangers. I have a couple of hangers that have clips that I use to hang pants. If it's a really stretch knit I lay it flat on a rack I have.

if its inside you dont have to use clothes pins but if it outside I recommend them cause if its a windy day your clothes will end up on the ground

My grandmother doesn't own a dryer....she only hangs things to dry. In the summer, she does it outside with clothespins/draping. In the winter or rain, she hangs them in the basement.
You can be just like my grandmother now.

I drape over, b/c I find clothes pins change the shape of cotton t-shirt bottoms. I clothespin socks and undergarments.
I don't have a dryer either I feel your pain!

I actually find that our clothes last longer and look better when we hang them to dry - so I do that with some of the stuff and use the dryer for non delicate things like sheets, towels, etc.
We don't use a line - we got two inexpensive clothing racks (like a closet rack) from BBB and then just use hangers to hang them in our laundry room. If something needs to dry flat I use the rack shown above and lay the item over the top.
