What is your "recipe" for the vinegar weed killer?

I am not sure about the ration.

Also are you using white vinegar?

That was funny, I'm pretty sure the first time I've ever seen my name like that in a thread title.

These days, I'm burning the crap out of the weeds so I'm going 3/4 white vinegar (the cheap crap that comes in the gallon jugs), one long healthy squirt of dishwashing liquid, the rest water.

We've started a new habit. DH goes in, scuffle hoes the grassy type weeds. Then he pulls taproot weeds, sprays the hole with vinegar, covers it with dirt/mulch.

If there is anything left (which shows it's ugly head less than a week later), I go at it with a trowel. I dig under the weed and unearth it, being careful to follow runners all the way to the end, pulling out intact roots/stems.

Crabgrass is starting to take hold now. Hot weather weed.
