What cardio machine burns the most calories?
When I joined the gym I was doing the elliptical (I hate the treadmill) and was burning next to nothing. I did the bike the last few times (and the lazy bike) and burned like triple the calories in the same amt of time - which I don't get b/c I don't feel like I'm doing anything or breaking any kind of sweat on the bike.
What's the best machine in the cardio room? TIA

It's not so much the machine but the resistence....do interval training on the machines. you will DEF get the most of your workout by doing that on ANY machine.

I will do the treadmill at the highest incline at about a speed of 3.1 (walking fast) and burn over 400 calories in 30 minutes.
I also like the other machine...like an elliptical but not..I can't think of the name of it. Anyway with a little resistance I can burn a quick 400 calories.

Running on the treadmill has always given me the highest calorie burn.

I use an arc trainer. I can usually do 700 calories in 40 mins. 2.5 miles. It has different leg positions and resistance from 0 to 100.

I think the treadmill gives the highest and most accurate number of calories burned. The only machine that I think gives similar results is the rotating stair machine.
To me, it seems when I am on an elliptical, I am barely sweating and "burn" more than I do on the treadmill, but I do not think it is accurate. JMO.
