fruit flies/flies how to get rid of them
so we've been in this house about a month and NEVER IN MY WHOLE 25 years of existance have i EVER had flies... and my kitchen and sink are swarming i dont leave food out, i never have dirty dishes in the sink more more then a few hours... and they just keep multipling... im completely disgusted and i have NO IDEA HOW TO GET RID OF THEM!?!?!?!
please help me before i lose it!

pour bleach downt the drain then stop up the drain for the night, they thrive in there

pour about an inch or 2 of apple cider vinegar in glass and make a paper 'funnel' and stick it in the glass....the sweet smell will attract them, but they don't know how to fly back out.....within minutes you will see a few in there.....you can either go outside with the glass and let them fly free or if you are not a 'save the flies' type of person you can just take the cup, funnel and all, run it under water until the cup is full and just dump it down the drain. Don't pull the funnel out and try to pour it down the drain....they will all fly out.
works like a charm whenever I have a fruitfly challenge.

Keep basil plants in your kitchen and near the fruit bowl. You can sprinkle some basil leafs on your fruit. This will help keeping the fruit flies away.
Use a bottle filled with an inch of lemonade, juice, wine or piece of fruit. Remove the bottle's lid and place a small piece of plastic wrap over the opening. Create several small holes in the top with a toothpick. leave the bottle in the kitchen near your fruit or sink to trap the flies. They get in, but can't get out.
Spray diluted lemongrass oil in the house. maybe, 10 drops of oil to 2 ounces of hot water. It will help kill fruit flies, ants, spiders and other bugs. Im pretty sure lavender oil does the same.
hope some of that helps... you can always use fly paper! the other options are just less ugly

ugh, we used to get them in our apartment!! they were in the bathroom and kitchen sink...tiny tiny litle gnats - they like the water i think...
my FIL is an exterminator and both us and the upstairs house where ILs lived had them how ironic right!
you can get rid of them for awhile but every now and then they might come back - that's how it was for us...but i'll take those little gnats over other bugs hahaha

we had drain flies last year when we moved in. are they in the bathrooms too?
we were told to pour boiling water down the drains. it worked!
