How much did you buy/pick out before you moved in to your new place?
Just curious is everyone plans everything out like me!
Of course I don't have EVERYTHING picked out, as you have to live in your new space to really see what you need, but I have many ideas right now!

My advice is dont buy or pick out anything before!! The things I bought before ended up not working or I didnt like them anymore by the time I got to use them. Also, you think of new ideas when you have been in a new place for a while that you might not think of before you move in.

ITA, unless you're buying something to go with something you already have.
I found that once we moved in and lived there for a little bit, you get to know the space better and realize what you like and what you need.

totally agree with above posters. i had ideas in my head, but didn't really buy anything much before moving in. my taste has changed as it is in the last 3 years of owning our house.  If you are talking about decor I would wait until you move it. If you are talking about furniture I would also wait, because you need to measure everything and make sure it isn't too big or too small for the rooms. GL! I know it's fun to shop, belive me, but try to wait. Unless of course it's a great SALE.....then go for it.

I just ordered a sofa a chair and a half for the formal living room bc I knew it would take a while to come in. In retrospect, I wish I didn't get the chair.
You have enough furniture form your current apt, so I would wait until you are in the new house first for any big purchases.

I actually didn't really buy a thing and was grateful I waited! When we got into the house our priorities complete changed. What I thought was so important wasn't and we actually needed certain things I never thought of, and I had limited funds to use after we closed, so I was happy I waited.

We went window shopping to get an idea of what we want, we have some things in mind, but don't do anything until you are there. We can't even get in to measure so we don't really know yet KWIM?

i ordered a sofa b/c it was on sale...i ordered it after the home inspection - and i knew it would fit b/c i took measurements
other than that we waited...
i did look online, i saved tons of photos for ideas and of things i loved (i still do this! hahaha)...there was a bedroom set from PB i swore we would get - but in the end we got something totally different and i'm glad i didn't just order the furniture from PB beforehand...even though it's still my favorite bed it wouldn't have worked in our space...
so my advice is wait...

We ordered the couch and big screen for the basement
and the dining room set (which we weren't looking for, but I saw it when we were looking for the couch and liked it.
And a new bed, but just the bed, not the bedroom furniture.
After 5 years in the house, I still have a completely empty formal living room.
