Shelter Island
Soo tomorrow a bunch of girls I run with are doing a 10K in Shelter Island. Starts at 5:30 pm with a BBQ after. This should be interesting considering it is supposed to be 85 degrees out! UGGG. Anyone ever do this race. I heard it's a lot of fun but hilly!

I've done it a few times. I stopped doing it only b/c of the NYS park summer series and Sunken Meadow 10K is always the same week.
There may be some rolling hills...but I always thought it was basically flat. It's actually my best 10K time (but before kids!).
You will love it - it's beautiful and the people come out like at Cow Harbor. Lots of people with sprinklers out for you, etc.

I wanted to do this!!! We have a house in Shelter Island but we couldn't make it this year... We do the breast cancer run in October though!

Wow Erica you are right on with everything you said! There are a few rolling hills which was great and the entire community came out to cheer and yes lots of ppl with sprinklers. So far this has been my best time for a 10K. I had such a great time the entire day. I am so glad I did it and cannot wait to do it next year!
