Cardio Max is like playing "Simon Says"-a DVD review
I did Cardio Max for the first time yesterday-it's a cardio DVD with Bob from the biggest loser as the trainer.
I never really watched the show and I didn't realize how funny Bob is-I was actually laughing a few times during this work out.
I also felt like I was playing Simon Says-it's the way that he tells you to do the exercised. I'm used to 30 day shred with Jillian specifically telling you how to do stuff, a clear time line for how long you are going to do a movement, etc.
With Bob it's "okay, do this. Now do this. Faster! Now reach down. Reach up". It's kind of hectic but I have to say the 30 minutes (warm up, cardio, cool down) went pretty fast.
What's nice about this one is that they have contestants from the show doing the class with Bob-so it's real people who aren't used to do the exercises.
I was sweating during the DVD and I feel the workout today so I think it's a good workout-maybe not quite as amped up as I was expecting (I was expecting Jillian's cardio pieces for 30 minutes and I didn't know how I was going to keep up).
This DVD is customizable. When the menu come up you pick what modules to run:
a warm up-5 minutes cardio 1 (Bob, 20 minutes) cardio 2 (Jillian, 10 minutes) cardio3 (that other female trainer, 10 minutes) Cool down-5 minutes, mostly yoga poses
I did warm up, cardio 1 and cool down.
I haven't added on the other 2 modules-I think I might take out Bob's 5 minute cool down, add in Jillian's module and just do my own cool down stretches. This way I am not adding too many more minutes to the routine but getting a more challenging work out.
Anyway-if anyone is interested in a condensed cardio DVD workout, I just wanted to let you know about it.
