mama lombardis or lombardis on the sound
dh and i would like to go someplace new to us with GREAT food for our anniversary tomorrow! ive heard great things about both but could really use some help deciding.. anyone want to help me... i have not been to either!
were looking to get dressed up (not super fancy but better then every day) dh says big portions are super important (such aman thing!)

Personally, I think that Lombardis on the Sound is much nicer...the menus in both places are identical, but I love LOS....it's actually one of my fave places

The setting at Lombardi's on the sound is much nicer, but I have had bad service there. My ILs just went to their newest restaurant... Lombardi's on the Bay (in Patchogue) and raved about it.

We went to the new Lombardi's on the Bay for DH's birthday this week. It was a delicious seafood and steak restaurant!

Lombardis on the sound has a much nicer atmosphere for an anniversary dinner! Mama Lombardis is good - but just like going to any other Italian restaurant. The sound will be more special I think!

ITA with this; I prefer Mama Lombardi's for this reason.
ETA: I haven't been to Lombardi's on the Bay, but that is another option to consider! The waterviews are beautiful.

We just went last Sat. for our 17th anniversary. We really liked it and we had a beautiful night so we got to watch the sunset and the boats in the harbor.
The menu was exactly was the same which was good as we got to go to a new place but have the same great food we normally get.
I have been going since they opened in 1976 and I have to tell you I have NEVER had anything bad there. I don't really like their regular cheese pizza but it is not bad and have had it if we are eating in the pizza section.
We found the waiter at LOS to be VERY nice and we did NOT feel rushed out like we normally do at ML.
The price was not bad either as I got a drink, dh a beer, appetizer and 2 meals and the bill came to $85.

I've been to LOS a few times and I wasn't really impressed. I have no ever been to Mamma Lombardis so I cant really compare
