If it started at 5 or 6 I would definitely serve dinner. But 7 is generally after dinner, so appetizers would work! Maybe something a little more substantial than chips, though... sort of an in-between where people can eat enough for a meal if they wanted to.

If it was Friday night, I would serve a meal. On a weekend night, I think it could go either way but I would serve something heartier then chips.

I would either do a meal or heavier appetizers.

Either way I would let the guests know what to expect since it could go either way at 7pm and you wouldn't want them to eat if you decide to do a meal

I don't know anyone that eats dinner before 7 Chat Icon so for us it would definitely be a dinner type thing.

you could do a bunch of heavier appetizers but it should be more than chips and dip!!!!

I would do more substantial appetizers. Not a full meal but lots of stuff to nosh on that you could make a meal out of if not. Def not just chips and crackers.

Chat Icon in my world, only senior citizens & little kids eat that early.

I usually have food for parties that start at 7 or 8. In the past I've done appetizers & then 1 easy casserole type dish (baked ziti or macaroni & cheese), but not a sit-down dinner.

Meal, buffet style is what I would probably do depending on how many people (less people I would do sit down dinner)
