Tell me what to do with Avacados

Normally the only thing I do with avacados is make guacamole. Today I squeezed some lime juice on one and just ate it. Other than that I am stumped. What do you normally pair avacado with? Is it solely reserved for a sandwich if I was going to do a chicken thing?

I make a TON of guac - it's a great replacement for mayo and a great dip. I also eat them plain and loooove avocado salad.

or, you can make a chocolate "mousse" much healthier by using cacao powder.

Avocado-Chocolate Truffles

1/2 cup butter
1 large very ripe avocados, peeled and pit removed*
1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
3 cups powdered (confectioners) sugar
Powdered sugar for rolling

* If an avocado is ripe, it will yield to a gentle pressure.

In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter; remove from heat; set aside.

In your food processor or food blender, puree the avocado until a smooth consistency. NOTE: If you add a little of the melted butter to the avocado, it helps in the process. Be sure there are no chunks of avocado left.

Add the avocado puree, vanilla extract, cocoa, and powdered sugar into the saucepan with the remaining melted butter. Mix until well combined. Place the chocolate mixture into the refrigerator until it hardens.

When chocolate mixture has hardened, remove from refrigerator. Line a sheet pan or cookie sheet with waxed paper or parchment. Using a cold metal teaspoon, melon baller, or a mini ice cream scoop and your hands, roll the chocolate into small balls about 3/4-inch diameter and arrange them on the sheet pan. If the mixture gets too soft to mold easily, put it back in the freezer for a few minutes. Place the cookie sheet of chocolate balls in the refrigerator until firm.

Once the truffles have hardened, remove from the refrigerator and shape into balls by rolling between the palms of your hands. Roll in powdered sugar to coat the outside. Place the finished truffles in the refrigerator until they are set. They should be stored in a covered container in the refrigerator until ready to serve. Bring to room temperature when ready to serve.

I don't know how old your DC is but if they're on solids, you can mash it up w/banana and feed them it

I chop it up and toss in in a pasta salad with rotini pasta, grilled chicken, rinsed canned black beans, chopped tomatoes, chopped bell peppers, cucumber, shredded sharp cheddar cheese.

you can aslo make a cobb salad with greens, crisp bacon, avocado, grilled chicken and other toss ins

We use avocados all the time. We bake turkey, bacon, avocado and swiss sandwichs.

Avocada goes great on salad and as a topping on burgers too.

I usually eat in the the quacamole form. We go through 2-4 of them every week.

avocado sandwich, just spread it on any bread or roll, slice tomatoes and alfalfa sprouts and a little salt/pepper, sound kinds we're but its so good

I absolutely love the way avocados and blackberries taste together. I put them in salads or on top of grilled chicken.

DH is from Africa & mashed avocado in white rice is a common poor mans dinner. It's actually very tasty!!
I eat them plain with a little salt & pepper.

Some may think its gross, but I love avocados and boiled egss, chopped and mixed with EVOO. Delish.

I'm used to eating them as a dessert shake.

Put half of a ripe avocado in the blender with ice cubes, a little cold water and condensed milk (to taste). Blend until isn't lumpy anymore.

I can tell you what NOT to do with them.... don't tell my ex-h that they make a good facial mask....he'll chase you around the kitchen with a handful of avacado

Cube the avo and cube mangos and mix with some greens and walnuts. Makes a nice salad.

Dice 3-4 Avocados, dice 3-4 plumb tomatoes, dice red onion, chopped fresh parsley, lemon juice, EVOO and crumbled feta cheese. Mix well... BEST DIP EVER!
