Can anyone recommend restarurants in LI that you can dock at?
My BF has a boat and we're going out Saturday on the LI sound. We're looking for a place to eat on the water where we can dock the boat and have dinner. Neither of us know Long Island very well, so we're clueless as to where to go. Any recs?

I don't know of anywhere in the sound but Snapper Inn (oakdale) is a great place to dock and eat!

There are all those places in Island Park.. and then there are places in seaford. Those ones are forever changing their names but, I bet you could find them with a good search.

not on the sound but on the south shore there are all the places on Nautical Mile in Freeport, and Giacamo Jacks in Amityville is a good one

I would have said Paddy McGee's but I think the dock, etc got wiped out during all the storms this winter.

there's Prime in Huntington.
It totally depends on which end you are coming from (east or west).
Don't know the Nassau Co harbors very well, but I would imagine that there are some in Rosslyn or Port Washington.
In Suffolk, Prime will be the one and only for Huntington Harbor. In Northport Harbor (inside of Northport/Huntington Bay), you can probably get a spot on the Town Dock and walk into the village to one of the restaurants there. After that, you'll need to go all the way to Port Jefferson. Danfords would be your option for a restaurant at the dock, though you could again probably get a spot on the Town Dock and walk into town for one of the Restaurants there. Dont' know if there is anything in Mt. Sinai Harbor.
You could also go over to the Connecticut side of the Sound. Probably have more options over there, especially in Norwalk going up the river a bit. Here's a link to the relevant chart. The Norwalk Islands are nice to cruise around too. Don't know if there has been any development in Bridgeport near where the Pt Jeff Ferry comes in, but that may be another option.
Again, it all depends on where you are starting out from.

Louie's in Port Washington. City Island in the Bronx has many good restaurants. I've been to JPs there but there are MANY restaurants.
