What patio furniture would look best with this??
So we are designing our backyard in a tropical look and i really want a thatched umbrella --- but not sure what kind of patio furniture (dining) would go well with it
Wicker/resin, teak, metal???
I tried to find inspirations pics online but i cant find a thatched umbrella that is shown with furniture Image Attachment(s):

what about something with a bamboo look to it?
That or wood/teak.
eta-- I just googled bamboo patio furniture and a few pics came up with palapas-- so you can def find some inspiration photos.

I think it goes with any type that you're looking for. if anything, it compliments it.. it won't clash.

Personally I would go with something either wrought iron or resin wicker. I've had all that you mention and the teak is a b!tch because you constantly have to put oil and it and maintain it.
With the others, you can hose it down or powerwash it if it gets really bad (which I've never had to do.)

So funny - my DH wants to do the same look...
I like it best with a wicker set.
My mom has teak and while it IS beautiful - it's just so heavy, it's cumbersome, kwim?

Yes i love Teak but was worried about it being "too much" and also its all going on a wood deck so i was worried if its too much wood all together

She has hers on a wood deck and it doesn't look like too much. It's almost matchy-matchy even!
I personally don't care for teak because of the upkeep and because it's so damn heavy. I remember being in my teens and it took all my strength to pull the damn chair away from the table. Even now, it's just a pain in the @ss. I hate teak!

This was my original thought -- a dark resin wicker - i feel like its the nicest option - something you'd see at a resort maybe

Also, on a side note, I'd suggest you get the regular umbrella with the set and then purchase the palapa and place it on top of your umbrella. I like the look of it and it seems to hold up better if they are strong winds.
if you do a search for palapa umbrellas, you'll see more. Alot of people where I lived had them in their yards.. covering their spas/outdoor kitchens and pool bars.

Thanks for this info - my DH is worried about how the umbrella will hold up - he thinks it'll be trashed after one season

 I don't remember exactly but I do remember when I looked at the price I wasn't that taken aback...i remember thinking it was reasonable. I don't know how handy you or your DH is but there are also plans online about how you can build your own.
You can find them online too...this one is $399
