I am a bigtime stress eater. I am potty training my kid today. It's torture! I want to eat everything in my house. What do I do????????

i'm a huge stress eater.
i d/l a free phone app on my droid --- its a cal counter that scans barcodes, has all restaurant foods, etc. i've been keeping a food diary - i had NO IDEA how many cals i was consuming daily. now that i'm tracking, i know exactly what's going on!

Re: I need help - stress eating
I'm not a stress eater but I am a grazer.
So, I made a commitment to myself this week that I will write down everything I eat. Everything.
1/2 a cookie-that's a point.
DD's left over mini pancakes? Also a point.
6 peanut M&Ms at the movies-that's a point.
Brownie batter while I made brownies for DD and DH? That's 2 points.
It's hard, but It's working. I've thought twice about putting something in my mouth when I remember that I have to record it.
Also, I would plan ahead-measure out 1-2 point snacks like pretzels or cookies and put them in ziplock bags so they are ready when you feel the urge

Maybe I'll snack on some pretzels now. Jacks reward has been Skittles and after I give him some, I give myself some.

Re: I need help - stress eating
So me!!
the stress of motherhood has not been good for my weight at all,
I am at my heaviest ever by far...I can pinpoint it. Haven't gone over ww points for weeks now. yesterday, look at josh...asthma. it hits me like a brick. used 6 effing flex points last night.
just watch the clock. if i make it till 4 with a lot of points left then i know i am good. 4 is the magic number for me.

Just find out how many points they are and write it down-you wont feel as badly and you will know what you are dealing with! Remember-it is okay to have skittles-you just need to account for them
