Well, we were supposed to go to closing on the sale of our co-op tomorrow....but apparently no one actually does any work at my mortgage company. So when i called to request things, they ignored me and then lied to me and said it had been mailed already. they've done NOTHING so far!!!

I HATE THEM.
And we're not going to be closing until next week.

Why such the delay in closing?

I'm sorry. It is very aggravating. It's such a bureaucratic process no one cares if they drag their feet.

We knew we weren't closing until around June, but figured we'd move out in April when I had a week off from school to make it easier on ourselves.

And then it took a while for the buyers to go in for a board interview.....and now this....

Hope they speed things up for you...I had to deal with the same thing...I ended up calling at least twice a day for updates!

It got worse.
We had to cancel the closing we had scheduled, which costs about $300 and have no idea when the closing will be rescheduled for.
Even though it's 100% not his fault, my lawyer was apologizing to me - he felt really badly that this is happening. And I feel terribly for the buyers because they have to pay to extend their mortgage committment now.

What a mess this stupid Mortgage company created. All because they didn't do their job and then then lied about it.

And the worst thing is that there's nothing I could have done to prevent this, and there's nothing I can do to fix it.
