what color is it - and what color are the tiles?

Tiles range from medium brown to yellowish and the grout is a little lighter in those cases. We also have ivory subway tiles and that grout is pretty much the same shade. When we were shopping tiles I was told that the grout is usually a shade or two lighter than the tile or a close match on light tiles, unless you're going for a specific look. Our contractor told us of one job he did where the client wanted dark grey tile with red grout The client decided after it was done that they didn't like it afterall and the contractor ended up taking all the grout out and re-doing it.

In one bathroom, we have grey tile, and the grout matches one of the greys in that tile. In another bathroom that I did myself, it's tan tiles with a tan grout. I like the grout to blend in with the tile, not stand out as a design feature.

Our tiles are gold/brown and we used a tan grout.
