French Doors
Are the handles on french doors supposed to turn, or are they dummy handles, if they are dummies what do you use to lock them?

Re: French Doors
Both handles on all of our doors turn in order to unlock and lock the doors in place.
BUT we did have another brand of french doors prior to our Anderson doors and I think one door may have had a dummy handle where the locking mechanism on the non-functioning door was at the top and bottom of the inside of the door when the functioning door was opened. (If that makes sense. )

Re: French Doors
ours go to a sunroom and both handles lock and move, neither are dummies

We are installing the handles ourselves, so I have one lock and one passage, we are going to try to just take the tongue thing out of the passage and have the lock tongue go into the passage hole (LOL hopefully that made sense), is that how yours is?

But to get both to move you had to take the tongue part out of one of them right?

Re: French Doors
It depends on how you want them to be.
We just installed french doors into our bedroom. The lock part (that part that's normally on the inner part of the door) is up on the top of the door. We did this so that we could have one door open and the other shut if we choose. The handles actually aren't on just yet... but they will be dummy handles... just something to hold onto when opening and closing the doors.
