I found the food scale in the beginning SUPER helpful! I still use it a year later...
Other than that, the only other "equipment" I use is the weekly tracker book. I track in there as opposed to online. And I use the paper points calculator when food shopping, but I know some people like the electronic one.

You get all the tracker point stuff when you sign up. And you dont need a weight scale if you are weighing in at a meeting. And I suggest not weighing yourself in between weekly weigh ins because it can really mess with your head.....weight will fluctuate daily and if you dont see the "right" number and can mess with your game plan.

No, I won't "cheat". I will weigh myself once a week, same day/time.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were doing it online. I get my tracker book every week when I go to weigh in and the paper points calculater is part of the book I got when I signed up. You can order an electronic one... I don't know how people go food shopping without one or the other..lol

They have them at local WW meetings, or try Ebay. FYI the point calculator is a must have and it cost $11.95. Do not pay much more than that. If you cannot get to a meeting than they average about $20 on ebay.

I am going to do WW online so I won't go to meetings.
Can I still get one at a local meeting place if I joined online? Just to buy one. Not to go for the meetings.

Re: What "equipment" do I need for WW?
Sophie - even if you do it online you can go to a WW location and pick up the following:
A book to track all of your points in. I believe it was 4.95.
The calculator - I like this sooo much better then the sliding scale that they give. It's 11.95. I carry that with me in my bag at all times and bring it food shopping with me.
I also agree with Brooke. The scale to weigh food is really helpful. The other day I was going to make a turkey sandwich and was figuring two pieces of turkey would be one point. I decided to weigh it and was able to get 4 slices bc the turkey was so thin (for 1 point) - the scale is over 40 bucks though. You don't NEED it - it's just nice to have.

Is that scale to calculate points directly or just a weight scale and then you can figure out of much points it means?

They sell it at WW. You put your food on top, type in what type of food it is, and it weighs the ounces and then tells you how many pts you are eating.

You can just buy a regular kitchen scale (7-10 dollars) and then look up the points in the book. In the book they give you the weight to number of points number. ie. Turkey - 2oz is X points.
All of this talk reminds me why I gave up WW and just started counting calories. No books, no calculators, no nothing and it's free. All food already has the info on it. Same as adding points but without all the external 'tools'.
