Tipping the guys at the nursery who help you load stuff into your car?

Do people tip these guys? It's never a far walk or terribly heavy things I couldn't do myself but I take their help because it's nice. I just didn't know if people ever tip them. I don't.

I usually hand them $1.00

I have asked for help with dirt to be loaded in my car or they offered and I had DS with me (most of the time!).

I tip $2. I have tipped up to $5 (once).

I usually do it myself though because I now put DS in the cart.

I always tip them $1. The nursery I go to hires local kids back from college for the summer and I figure they aren't making that much an hour.

I would. But I think it's more of a nice gesture than a necessity.

I had never really thought about it. If it was just some small stuff I would say I probably wouldn't, but when we bought all of the stuff for the yard and put it in my truck yup we tipped the guy. Probably $10, but we had a SUV full of plants.
