Baby #2
Are there any ladies out there that have 2 or more children? How did you or do you handle explaning the baby to a toddler? How did you manage?

Re: Baby #2
I never told Joseph we were having a baby until a few weeks before. Mainly because he was only a year & a half. I also didn't think he could distinguish between a pregnancy & someone who was heavy. Since he was a talker, I didn't want him going up to other people & asking if they had a baby too.
I posted this before but, here's another reason not to mention it : At eight months pregnant, I was waiting on line in a store. He pointed to my belly and said “Baby?”. I said “yes, that’s where the baby is.” He then pulled up my shirt, pointed to my belly button (which the pregnancy had turned to an outie) and said “Baby’s Nose?”

Re: Baby #2
My DS will be 3 in September and we told him about the baby. If you ask him what's in Mommy's belly he will say "baby". We bought him the DVD "Three Bears and a Baby" It is by Sesame Street so he can get the idea of the difference in our house once the baby is here. He will pull up my shirt and kiss my belly. Another girl is pregnant at my job and brought in her sono pics and Damien told her that's my baby We keep showing him the sono pics

Keep in mind with the sono pictures, you can do more harm then good. My nephew (4 at the time) was convinced his baby sister was going to be a skeleton. They didnt realize it until they brought him into see her. He had a look of sheer terror on his face & cried out "She has skin?!"

I tell you..you always have a funny story and you always bring a smile to my face. I thought the story above and this one were so funny I was cracking up here in my office and someone came in to ask me because she wanted to laugh too because it sounded like such a good laugh.....
