It's for the children!!!!
Anyone else sick and tired of being made out to be evil and uncaring if you vote against the school budget and don't have a child in the schools?
I'm all for education but I'm also for fiscal responsibility on the part of the schools and and end to the mentality of some that taxpayers should be an endless well of $$$ and that's on the local, state and federal level.

Yes, I feel strong armed by their tactics. I did vote yes this year, again, but it was a hard decision to make. The children would be better served by boards that actually care about them and make sound financial decisions with their interests truly at heart. Last year our district "threatened" all these losses to the kids if we voted no, so we passed the budget...guess what, there were cuts anyway AND admins got raises. This is a very broken system that needs a major over-haul!!

How I may have voted is irrelevant. I just think it's ridiculous that people are claiming that voting "NO" is voting against children -- or that all childless people will vote one way because clearly we don't care about children.
Interesting that we're not evil and uncaring when it come time to levy those school taxes...
If they don't want us to vote with our own minds, then don't expect us to pay with our own money.  See, letting us vote our own way doesn't seem so bad now, does it?

That totally burned me so much.
As far as "for the children" I voted yes because it was a small tax increase but if it was any higher I would of said NO.
