Wondering if anyone has a clue as to what questions to ask when house hunting? And what are good answers to look for. Like if I asked how old is the roof, is 5 years too old? What about the boiler, etc...TIA!!

Re: Real Estate

Take a look at the HOME chat board on this site. There is a lot of information on there.

You can also do a SEARCH with Key words and get some information.

Good Luck!

Re: Real Estate

If you are intererested in a property, you should ask as many questions as possible. The more recent the work that have been done in the property, the less worries, less mainteance(to a certain degree), and you won't have to worry about major expenses as you settled in. Siding, roofing, boiler or oil tank, renovations that need to be done(kitchen, bathrooms) and how old are the appliances in the home should be some of the things to look for since they can get pricey. Notice any leaks, look at the windows of the home etc. Think of it this way, once you buy the property, anything that's on there become yours and your problem. Best of luck in finding the home of your dreams.
