Question about cake

I was going to make a LOST cake for our series finale party (well its just a few of us)

It's kind of a surprise that I'm making themed food for DH so I wanted to make a cake for the 23rd night

but I'll be gone on the 22nd overnight for a wedding

If I make the cake on the 20th...will it still be decent on the 23rd? In a fridge?

Oh, just regular boxed cake mix

I'm a cook, not a baker Chat Icon

Re: Question about cake

Someone posted a thread on here about LOST party food ideas

mangoes
pot roast = the boar they ate

I think there are dharma food labels online you can print

I need to prep this ahead of time as its supposed to be a surprise for DH and we'll be out of town the night before Chat Icon

Re: Question about cake

Not sure but if you want to make the cake ahead you can freeze it. My DH's aunt is a big baker and she often makes cakes and freezes them, even after they are iced. She wraps them in a lot of plastic wrap and you would never know it was previously frozen.

Re: Question about cake

You can make the cake ahead of time, I just wouldn't ice it.
