Where do you get your injectible meds?**EDITED WITH NEW ?***

So we filled the script for hcg for DH at CVS but they wouldnt give us needles and said we had to get from our dr.

So at the dr tonight he said that we had to get them from the pharmacy and wrote a script for them. CVS took forever to figure out if they even had them and turns out they had the syringe but not the needles so they have to order them .

Just wondering where everyone goes and do they have trouble?

Thanks.

****How do you dispose of needles and syringes?? Im gonna have 3 a week. I looked up and only found some people say use a laudry detergent bottle - but only the needles would fit no the syringes. ****

Re: Where do you get your injectible meds?

I get my drugs from my mail in companay Freedom Fertility and they send the meds and needles.

Your doctor should be able to give you one needle and syringe for the HCG shot.

Most pharmacies don't carry all sizes of needles. There would just be too much to stock.

Thanks for the response. He has to get 3 shots a week - every week. So the dr doesnt have that kind of supply (or doesnt want to give it to us for free) so we need to get from the pharmacy. Do you have to use a new syringe each time?

I use Stony Brook Pharmacy. It is in the medical complex at 2500 Rt. 347. My RE's office faxes over the scripts and then I go pick it up.... very easy. They always have what I need.

That's the same pharmacy that my RE clinic uses as well. They are super fast and friendly.

I know that you need scripts for needles and once you have them, just call the local pharmacies first to find out if they have them.

I used Kraupners, too. It's very convenient that they deliver to your house, but they usually don't show up until VERY late.

My re uses Scrafts (walgreens) with the DOH grant that i am on. I like that they can ship the meds to my job so i can put them in the fridge. Also i like how they tell me what day they are coming.

Yes, you need to use a new syringe each time. You also need to dispose of the needles and syringes correctly in a sharps container.

You use a sharps container. Those are also available for sale at CVS, I believe.

I have a Sharps container too. Then I drop them off at the RE's office whenever I am there.

You can buy a sharps container at CVS, or put them in a detergent bottle and bring them to your RE's office. There was a post of this recently with excellent suggestions. I will bump it for you.
