Thanks! We don't usually have too much of a problem, but I think we eat a lot.Chat Icon

Ground beef & chicken can be hard to find in small packages, so we freeze.

My in-laws shop in Costco (for 2 people), and they throw away so much food. I refuse to do that, no matter how much money I could save.

My parents also shop at Costco for 2Chat Icon i never understand why but when I ask my mom she says 'oh we get the meat there, and freeze the extra'. Believe me they get more than meat there but they do buy stuff and freeze it.

The few times I've tried to shop at Costco or BJ it just has NOT been cost effective; I find better sales from the grocery store and buy only what I need instead of stocking up on 267486 boxes of pasta or 7821 jars of salsa.

Maybe its convenience, that they don't have to constantly food shop? Only once or twice a month vs every 4 days or so?

I find that I save more money at BJ's with coupons - they send out a monthly flyer with coupons and I've saved up to 50 bucks at one time. We buy stuff and freeze it also. We try not to buy too much produce there though because its so much it will go bad with just the 2 of us...
