Re: Truvia vs. Splenda
I would either stick to real sugar or no sugar at all. Truvia didn't agree with my stomach and I feel like all those sweenters make me bloated

Re: Truvia vs. Splenda
Truvia is made from stevia which is the root of the sugar cane, so it's a much more concentrated unaltered version of sugar. You use way less of it because it's super sweet. Splenda is a chemical version of sugar, an artificial sweetener - personally I never ever eat anything with splenda, aspartame or anything like it in, I eat more naturally.

Re: Truvia vs. Splenda
Splenda is chlorinated- it may not be bad if used once in a while but i wouldn't make a habit of it...you're basically drinking small concentrations of bleach.
Truvia/Stevia is def a "better" alternative but honestly if you're going to have anything sweetened, you're much better off using Raw sugar. All of these things in your body leave you so much more predisposed to health problems

Re: Truvia vs. Splenda
I've been reading Jillian Michael's new book, Master Your Metabolism. One of the biggest problems is artificial sweetners. What they actually do is trick your body into thinking that anything sweet has no calories, so when you actually do eat something sweet that has a lot of calories, like a doughnut for example, your body won't rush to break it down, because it's been trained to think that it has no calories since its sweet.

I agree, I use REAL sugar. People are always amazed because I am pretty lean & eat very clean that I use real sugar, but it's better for you than anything refined. I actually use a lot of sugar.

Stevia is it's own plant, not the root of sugar cane. I grew it in my garden last year. This is what it looks like.
