Furnishing the house...
What are your recommendations on getting stuff for my guest room, etc....it seems so empty. All I have in there are twin beds (no carpeting) and a night table with a lamp and a clock. And a few pics on the wall.
Maybe I should put down an area rug? What are some inexpensive places - Home Goods, Ikea, Pier One?

Re: Furnishing the house...
Pier 1 has a lot of stuff on sale now. Our bedroom set is from there and we have found it to be very well made.

I also have a BIG basket with towels, soaps, shampoos, etc. from hotels - travel sizes. Put a few books or magazines on the nightstand. Do you have a small radio you can put in the room too?
You can get some of that wicker furniture that is actually plastic - my sister did that. She takes if outside when having a lot of people over for a BBQ or whatever, then puts the chairs back in the guest room with pillows on them...

Like you said Home Goods, Pier One are all good.
I like target and kohls for that stuff too.
A magazine rack, a small book case on the wall, a plant (real or fake), a vase with fake flowers, and area rug, a small table with different sized picture frames are all good ideas to fill a room. Pretty Curtains if there is a window can really dress a room - I love K-mart's Martha Stewart Line for cheap curtains.

wall art, accent pieces, window coverings, table lamps, and an area rug. if the beds are next to one another, place a larger sized bedside table inbetween the beds and accessorize w/ a lamp and framed pictures.

Hey Jen!! I heard Tuesday Mornings (a cute houseware store in NJ) is a good place to find stuff.
