how to get started creating a plan?
so, i've lost some weight. yes, i'm happy. but now, i'm too soft and i still have more weight to get off of my big butt.
i'd love to do boudoir portraits. i think this would be a great motivator. so, after some of what i've read here and some thinking... i've decided to give myself a "deadline" to work towards.
i'm currently, putting together a "plan".
my question is this. where can i go, probably online, to help me put this plan together? i'm looking for ideas of what types of resistance activities i should be planning to do, how much, how frequently, how long should i be doing said activity before i should be ready for another activity that is harder?
i hope that made sense.
i don't want to put together a plan thats filled with really easy things that won't really push my body to change. yes, i want weight loss, but i mostly want to make the muscle i have denser.

Take a look at bodybuilding.com. There is TONS of information out there. There is also a forum where you can ask other people for help. One of the forums is just for women. I go on there all the time...it is WONDERFUL!
Do you have gym access? Have you lifted weights before? What is your current exercise/nutrition plan?

Re: how to get started creating a plan?
I would say make small goals, like this week I'll do x, and next week I'll do x and y. I think why many people fail is they try to do too many things all at once and when they don't see immediate results they get discouraged & give up.
It's a lifestyle. It's changing your life and being healthier.
The thing that works is the thing you enjoy and stick to. For me, it’s body weight exercises & kettlebell work. For another poster it may be running, for another it’s zumba. Try out a lot of different things & see what you like, because I can tell you what “works” or what is the “best”, but if you hate it and won’t stay with it then that’s not going to work for YOU.
It’s a LONG process, it takes time to lose fat and tone & stay toned. I’ve been doing it almost 19 years now and I can say it’s hard work and a lot of sacrifice, but this is important to me so it’s worth that work & sacrifice.
So, my advice, try a lot of different classes, try kickboxing & zumba & spin, try walking & jogging intervals, try free weights, find what you like to do.
As for diet, I will say what I always say - cut out processed foods wherever possible. Especially “diet” foods, they are so bad for you, they are all chemicals. Eat veggies, eat fruits, eat nuts, eat real FOOD. I am not hungry all day and starving & deprived and I believe it’s because I don’t eat processed foods, my blood sugar is regulated & I am not spiking and crashing all day. I don’t count calories. Ever. I don’t need to because I just eat real food when I am hungry and that’s it…. But again I will also go back to what I said earlier and that is: whatever you will stick to is the best plan. Good luck!!
(I hope this doesn't sound too preachy )

Great advice from the poster above me!
What works for me is also trying to do realistic goals. For me, I enjoy yoga so I set a goal that I know I can reach each week which is to attend only 3 sessions.
Usually I find myself able to make 4 sessions so that's a bonus.

I agree too.
I've been loosing weight solely by making healthy changes to my diet and by exercising. I started at the end of December. My body has been changing very slowly but there's no wagon to fall off of because everything has been done gradually and it's become how I live.
I really didn't want to exercise in the beginning. I wanted to watch TV. So we got an ellipical and I do it while watching TV. I have worked up to 45 minutes covering about 11 miles. I plan to incorporate my yoga DVDs soon because as I've gotten healthier, I've lost my interest in plopping in front of the TV and I crave the deep stretching and increased flexibility.
My point in all of this is to reiterate what the PPs have said~ you have to find something that works into your lifestyle. The major changes that you see to your body come over time and you need to do something that you will enjoy and keep coming back to.

ITA with everything Kitty said esp what I quoted.
I do not have her disipline much to my chagrin but I *try* in my way.
I don't LOVE exercise, but I do love how I feel after, how mybody looks. I try to stick with excercises I love spin, dance classes, walking with friends for long periods of time...
Running will NEVER be my thing, so I don;t force it, kwim?
Little by little day by day and being consistent it what works IMO.
GOOD LUCK
