Crock Pot question
Once you put food in, do you stir it or just let it be? I put a stew in, and I'm wondering if I'm doing more harm than good but stirring it every once in awhile.
Thanks!!

Re: Crock Pot question
You're supposed to just leave it and not remove the cover. But I can never just leave it, I always have to stir and see if I can 'taste' how it's progressing.

Re: Crock Pot question
They say it dries it out and not to do it, but I always do and there's never been a problem.

Re: Crock Pot question
I remember reading that if you take the lid off, it takes 30 min to get back to the same temp.

Re: Crock Pot question
I always stir it. I feel like the stuff at the top will never cook if I don't.

Re: Crock Pot question
I try not to open it unless I have to. If it is almost done and I am adjusting seasonings then I will open it and stir it , add seasonings. It takes time off of the total cooking time when you open it.
