If you have bangs

1) how often do they need to be trimmed?

2) do you go back to the salon or trim them yourself

3) if you go back to a salon, how much do they charge, if anything?

4) if you trim them yourself. do you have any tips?

Thanks!

Re: If you have bangs

I trim my own every like 2-3 weeks. I just wet them and use a sharp scissor to cut across. I am not overly perfect, but with the way I style them, you can't tell if I were to cut them crooked Chat Icon

Re: If you have bangs

My bangs grow VERY fast...my friend has been doing my hair (works in a salon) for over a year now, and she convinced me to so bangs...now when I see her, I make her trim them...

IF you are going to do them yourself, you should only cut when they are dry. and hold the scissors at a angle, pointing up at your forehead, KWIM?

I cut my own, but I have curly hair. You can't necessarily notice different lengths of hair when it's curly. Or at least that's what I tell myself. Chat Icon

Re: If you have bangs

I had them for years. I tried to get them cut every 3 weeks. It didn't always happen but I stayed close to that schedule, otherwise I would get a cowlick that I did not like. I rarely cut them myself, like maybe 2-3 times in 10 years. I was in the city for a lot of that time and I would just walk into salons that were all too happy to take my money for someone to spend about a minute cutting my bangs. I tried having them again but it was that cowlick that did me in. My bangs curl up on the right side in the same spot all the time and they form a part even if I want them to be straight down.

Re: If you have bangs

1. I trim them when they get too long. No specific time table

2. I do it myself. My stylist said I can come in anytime for a trim but it is easy to do myself.

3. n/a

4. When you trim, do a little at a time until you feel comfortable. I cut when my hair is dry. If you do it when they are wet, you can cut too much.

BTW, I have side swept bangs so it may be a little different.
