Is It Possible to Gain Weight?
I've been working out for years. I do cardio kickboxing 3 - 4 sometimes 5 times a week. The classes are one hour in duration. Sometimes we do weights, cardio and sit-ups. Sometimes we just do all cardio and sit ups. It changes. I also run 3-4 miles on the treadmill.
Lately, I've noticed the scale isn't budging and sometimes even going up a few pounds. I feel lighter and I clothes are fitting better but what's up with the scale?
I watch what I eat - I'm not obsessed with what goes in but there's no way I'm eating more than I'm exercising.

it could be that you are building muscle which is why you don't see the number moving down on the scale but that your clothes are fitting better... you should go by how your clothes are fitting anyway, it sounds like you are very successful!

Re: Is It Possible to Gain Weight?
It can definitely be muscle mass. My gym does body fat assessments so I know I've gained over 10 lbs of muscle in addition to losing body fat. The number on the scale hadn't gone down that much, but I noticed a big difference in my body and the way my clothes fit.

Re: Is It Possible to Gain Weight?
your building muscle
muscle weights more then fat- and take up less space
this is why I do not weigh myself
what I look like and the number on the scale don't match- I look like a weigh about 115 the scale normally says 125
so I go by how my clothes fit

Thank you so much for your responses. That's exactly what I was thinking but that number just annoys me to no end!

Re: Is It Possible to Gain Weight?
You could be gaining weight due to muslce. Just keep in mind, its a very common misconception but muscle does weigh more than fat! It just takes up less space. So you could just be gaining muscle, but getting smaller.

True! This is why your clothes fit better, but the scale does not move.
