What shape is your coffee table?

I moved the leather square ottoman we had downstairs in our living room upstairs to our den since that is where we mainly watch TV. It makes more sense to have the ottoman up there (since it's where we lounge). But now my living room downstairs looks so naked!

I think a coffee table would be great for downstairs since it's the more "formal" out of our two casual living areas.

I like these coffee tables from Ikea (mostly b/c of the price -def on a budget here) but I'm not sure if I should go with rectangle or square?

I have a small L shaped sectional. I think I am leaning more towards the rectangle to have something different - I don't know if it's silly to have two squares (one upstairs and one downstairs)? Or if it doesn't matter since one is a table and the other is a ottoman anyway.

Anyone care to share pictures of their coffee table?

I like the square one. I don't think it matters that you have a square ottoman in the other LR. Go for it!

i think either is fine, but I think it depends on the other furniture in the room and/or the layout of furn or room.

To me if you have a long sectional, you may want to go with a rectangular coffee table that is longer, because it will even out the space . In my LR because of the size of the room and the way the couches are placed, i feel a rectangular is better for the space. a square in my LR would look out of poportion

I like the rectangle one. I also have an L shaped couch and we have a rectangle coffee table.

I really do not think it matters if it is square or rectangle, you do whatever you feel looks nicer in the space you have allotted. I personally like the rectangle b/c it is longer, and when I have people over I am able to put so much stuff on the table and still have room to put your cups down, etc...
