Re: Planet fitness
They don't have daycare or classes.
It's good if you want to do a lot of cardio - they have tons of treadmills and ellipticals. Their weight area comparitively is a little small.
It's a lot nicer than I thought it would be for the price. I just need to start going back!

WHERE??? DH is a member - there was one near us where we used to live - and I'm a gym snob so I didn't love it. It's pretty bare-bones. No classes and no daycare. It's clean and the equipment is fine, but I need major distraction when I'm on cardio machines and they don't have individual TV's. Just 5 or 10 small ones hung up on the ceiling that you can listen along to. Also because it's so cheap ($10 a month!) you have a lot of high school kids and "casual" gym-goers who just kind of hang out on the machines talking on their cell phones.
So if you want to go in, jump on a treadmill for an hour, and jump out, you can't beat the price. If you need distractions - classes, TVs, personal trainers, a nice, bright atmosphere - then I'd look elsewhere.

Re: Planet fitness
We joined about a month ago and they don't have classes, per se, but they have sessions where you can meet with trainers in small groups...there is really just a bunch of cardio machines, a 30 min. circuit and then regular weight machines...I bring my nook and Ipod and find that I am distracted enough to do what I want and get out...if that's what you want, go for it for $10 a month!
