Homeowners Insurance
Just need an idea of homeowner's insurance. My pre-approval quotes $100/month for homeowners insurance, saying it's about standard. But family tells me it costs more. But then again they live in Queens. Also, if it makes a difference, I am buying in suffolk county.

I would definitly call a few places if you are looking for the best rate.
I got prices from 1050-2300/yr.

we pay our homeowners insurance as part of our mortgage payment to the bank and then they pay the insurance company.

We pay it separately because our insurance is together with our car, umbrella and rider for my ring. Just my homeowners was about 700 the rider for my ring was another 300 so it is 1000 for both.
