Re: how long is an ivf cycle?

I timed my cycle ( to have IVF at a certain time).

I extended certain parts of the birth control/Lupron "getting ready" phase for that reason. that part is pretty variable, but I had about 1 month to "get ready."

The actual IVF cycle is 2 or more weeks of injections (depending on your follicle development).

Then the retrieval.

Then a transfer on 3 to 5 days,

Then a 2 week wait minus the 3 to 5 day wait until transfer.

Re: how long is an ivf cycle?

mine was about 6 weeks total from the time I started BCP until my BFP... I did about 2.5 weeks of BCP, 1.5 weeks of shots and then the 2WW...

It goes by pretty quickly.

Re: how long is an ivf cycle?

From start to finish was about 6 weeks

ETA: My first IVF cycle was a bit longer because I responded very slowly to the stims. I stimmed for 14 days.

2 weeks on Lupron. 2 weeks being primed with estrogen. 15-17 days on stims, 2 day transfer and then the 2 week wait.

about 8 weeks total.

I am a slow responder and older so this is a protocol designed for my diagnosis.

I just asked my RE about this today. He said it's about 7 weeks from when you initially start the process (day 1 of your cycle) to when the embryos are ready.
