Shape of Sperm Low??
We just got the sperm analysis back and the lady said DH's "Shape of sperm is a bit low" ... does anyone know what this means??? Im so upset

Maybe they mean the morphology? Because morphology determines whether the sperm is normal on the basis of its shape and size. Check out this link for more info. Hope it helps!  My DH has a slight problem with his sperm mophology.

When I called, I just spoke to some lady- who didnt give me much information and told me when I get AF, to call them and then we can sit down with the doctor to discuss the results.
I dont want to wait- I want to know now

When I called, I just spoke to some lady- who didnt give me much information and told me when I get AF, to call them and then we can sit down with the doctor to discuss the results.
I dont want to wait- I want to know now
 I would call back and request to speak to the doctor. You shouldn't have to sit around and worry This TTC process requires enough patience from places beyond our control... but this is one convo you should not have to wait for AF for. I'd call again tomorrow if you're upset and curious about it!!

Yea I'm totally upset and now really worried. DH is also asking me questions about the results and I have no idea
DH is going to call tomorrow and ask her if she can explain a little more about what is going on. They already closed so now I have to think about this all night

My DH had a slight problem with morphology but the dr said its not that big of a deal especially when they are doing iui because he has a large quantity of sperm.

So if we do IUI, it would be better? DH said that he wanted to try a month with medication and no IUI for the 1st round...but if he is "low" I'd rather jump to the IUI to have a chance...DH just wanted me to get pregnant the natural way. I'll go with any way possible! lol!
He got an 8 out of 14....whatever that means I dont even know what those numbers are for because they didnt explain it to me.

my DH also has slightly low morphology and its nothing to really worry about.
because of this my DH did an extra test, a DNA De-fragmentation test with Dr. B and it came back that he had high oxidization - and the treatment is as simple as taking specific antioxidants.
dont worry about it too much - its NOT a big deal if its only slightly below average.

My husband doesn't have the best morphology and we got pregnant on our own with our son, very easily, and then with our second thru IVF with ICSI. I know that any type of abnormal result can seem devastating at the time, but believe me, of all the problems, this is the one you want to have. It is the easiest of many IF problems to fix, your WORST case scenario is usually IVF with ICSI, so long as there is nothing wrong on your end that is preventing pregnancy. I got pregnant on my first round of IVF and we still have 3 frozen embies if we want to go for a 3rd.

First of all, call the doctor/nurse back and ask them to tell you the % of abnormal morphology.
Once you know the % you know what kind of problem you have (if any).

Im going to call tomorrow and ask them what the % of abnormal morphology he has and when I go in for my next appt. Im going to ask them for a copy of DH's SA results. I didnt even think of this. Thank you! Good luck to all of you!!
