which would you choose?
I'm thinking of taking my SIL away for her bday and have a few things in mind. Which would you prefer? 1) Have a spa weekend. Two nights, driving distance, room and spa services- would cost about $1000. 2) Ft. Lauderdale. We could fly out of local airport, three nights hotel- cost about $1000. 3) All-inclusive. Air and three nights- would run about $2000. Obvioulsy option 3 is most expensive, but options 1 and 2 don't include any food/drink or spending money.

Re: which would you choose?
well, you figure once you add in food and drink you will be pretty close to $2000 anyway, so if i were you i would def do the all inclusive. that way you never have to leave the grounds.
You can always tell family members thst is ur b-day present to her, and if people want to buy her a spa package or something while you there that would be awesome!

Re: which would you choose?
Would travel time effect your decision? We would be going for a long weekend. Ft Lauderdsle we would fly out of our lsmall ocal airport (15 minutes from home) and it's under 3 hour flight. All-inclusive we would need to go out of JFK (45 minutes from home) and a 4+ hour flight.

Re: which would you choose?
I think 1 or 2 based on the time to travel - especially since it will only be a long weekend - with 3 you will be traveling most of the 1st and third day and only have one real day. #1 seems the least rushed - no planes means no timeline - you could travel at your leisure. When are you going? If it is now/summer the weather is good too.

Re: which would you choose?
Based on travel time I would do Ft. Lauderdale.
My parents have a condo there and DH and I go for long weekends,,,,it's about as far as I will travel for a weekend.
