When do taxes get re-assessed?
Does anyone know? More specifically when do they get reassessed after you've done alot of work to your house or if it's a new construction house, does it happen as soon as they are done building?

Okay I found this...
Nassau County Assessment Review Commission
But I'm having trouble understanding this part:
When will the latest assessment affect my tax bills?
Assessments tentatively published in January become final on April 1 of the following year and are used for school tax bills in October of that year and for general tax bills in January of the next following year.
Does this mean that if you are reassessed Jan 1 2007, it doesn't take effect until April 1 2008?
