grocery shopping - how much $?
about how much do you spend a week on groceries?
i just started meal planning and coupon clipping and i'm amazed at how much my bill has dropped! (i also moved from brooklyn, so that helps too!  )
i've been spending between $35-60/week (depending on if i'm buying occasional items or npt - paper towels, cereal, toilet paper, etc.) for my family of 3 (dd is 11 m/o though so doesn't eat too much!)

I also noticed that menu planning has helped A LOT!!! Partially b/c I am not just buying random stuff and also b/c we are eating out less. But it still depends. Some weeks, I can get by with $35, other weeks $70, other weeks $90. I just try to make it that groceries for the month are roughly $280 for us. That averages $70/week. That's what I like to allocate in my head.

Wow, I'm impressed! I plan all my meals too, but spend about $90-100/week for just DH and me.

I spend about $150 every three weeks. There are two of us. I buy a lot of paper goods from the grocery store though - ziploc containers, toilet tissue, paper towels, tissues, etc. That adds up quickly.

I spend too much.
I try to always buy on sale, but I am in the supermarket EVERYDAY  picking up odds and end for whatever meal I decide to create--and that is where I spend the $$.
I would say in am onth we spend @ $250-300 on grocery (just did a rough view of my CC for a month,,,this is not including when I am there and pay cash  )
But I cook every weeknight (not always friday) and I take lunch everyday, DH sometimes takes lunch.

for DH and I, we spend anywhere from $40-80 depending on how depleted our pantry is and if we need to stock up on stuff.
Meal planning definitely helps!

Total of about $400/month between Costco and Peapod. We have 4 people, 2 adults, one 11 yr. old and one 6 yr. old.

For just DH and I, we spend about $100-$150/month.
I shop big sales for staples (TP, canned foods, condiments, etc) and I'm not too proud to use coupons!
