Slippery Hardwood Staircase
My staircase is hardwood and it is SUPER slippery. I've taken a tumble or two in the 2 years we've been living in the house. I don't want to completely cover up the staircase with carpeting, but I was thinking about maybe putting the carpet panels (?? No idea what you call these things!) on each step. We are expecting a baby at the end of the year, and falling down the stairs just isn't an option anymore.
Has anyone done this and do you like the way it came out? Please post pics if you have them!
TIA!

Re: Slipper Hardwood Staircase
I have the same problem. However we paid $$$$ to have hardwood going up the stairs and to cover that up with carpet (even a runner) is going to KILL me.
Now sure what we'll do. We also have a 1 year old and I am terrified of him climbing the stairs!

Ugh, I know exactly what you mean. I LOVED the look of the hardwood stairs with the white back panels and white banister... so that's what we did. I love the way it looks, but it's just not practical for a pregnant woman/child. My poor dog slips and slides down them too. We have to do something!!

this is what my mom has, it goes down the center of the steps (maybe a foot/foot and a half wide) and you can still see the white on the back of the stairs and the hard wood on either side of the runner.
