Female zebra finch rescue/wanted

I know its a long shot but if anyone ever hears of a female zebra finch that needs a home, please contact me. I have a male and his mate died a while ago. Thanks!

Awww. I work in a lab with zebra finches. I am moving to NY in the next few months, but I did tell my lab that if they ever need birds rescued that I would come back and take some birds to people who I know will give them good homes. The lab is running out of money, so they may need to shut their doors and get rid of birds in the coming months. But it probably wouldn't be for a year or so.

I know that doesn't help you, but I will keep you in mind if I hear anything.
