which dress
I am going to a black tie option wedding in a few weeks and I am having a hard time picking a dress. I heard through the grapevine the bride prefers the guests to wear long dress and preferably black

i really like #1, but i chose #3. my friend had #1 for her bridesmaid dresses and i wore a similar dress and felt like a bridesmaid. - just didn't feel right in it.

I said #3 also, the first two do look kinda "bride's maidish" to me.

I like #3 the best - the others look too much like BM dresses to me.

I actually would have gotten the first one you posted but when I showed my cousin, she said that the bride really wants guests in long dresses

No offense, but since when does the bride get to dictate exactly what the guests wear? That's completely ridiculous. Wear what you want and feel comfortable in.

I say go for the one you really like, I wouldnt pay attention to what you hear thru the grapevine. If there are any complaints, tell her you didnt get the memo.

I wore the first one in a burgundy color as a bridesmaid. I loved the dress. It was extremely flattering.
