What does your cat go through when it has a hairball?
I'm just curious b/c my kitty had a bad hairball attack (I think) this week.
She puked once earlier this week and then she puked for the first time today. Both times were food. This usually happens with her and I give her something with malt to lick off her paw and that does the trick.
Today was different. I came home to some puke and then she cried. I knew something wasn't right and she puked more food. Then came the hairball and then again more hair. A little bit more liquid and within a half hour she was fine. I stayed home just to watch her in case I needed to bring her to the vet. She's fine. In fact within an hour after her whole episode, she wanted more food! I had taken away the food.
She seems ok, but I am a bit worried. She has always had trouble with hairballs, but never this bad. Tell me about how your cat deals with hairballs.

My cat goes through similar episodes. Sometimes are worse than others. I wouldnt really be too concerned unless it continously gets worse.!

I would be more concerned if she didn't puke up a hairball after all that, but she did, so it sounds normal. Try one of the those super brushes that get the undercoat and brush her every day. That plus the hairball remedy should do the trick.

She has been fine since. I was scared b/c I never saw her react to a hairball like that.

that happened to my cat so bad when we first got her that blood was coming up (she irritated her throat so bad). try brushing her a lot (those "furminator" brushes work great) and feeding her oily treats (tuna in oil or pour a little olive oil over her regular food) to help the hair pass easier.

Maggie just went thru that
I cleaned up puke a few times- right after she ate
then I HUGE hair ball
today she feels so skinny- but she is fine- totally normal
