The Village Knitter in Babylon....
I just went there on my lunch and wanted to get some yarn to make a garter. While I was there they did not carry the thread I would need but the owner went online found me some patterns, found the exact weight stuff I would need etc.
I was very impressed. Most people would not go out of their way to help me find what I need when they do not carry it. Basically we figured out I can get what I need at Walmart of all places, LOL.
She also told me about this website, ravelery which has tons of patterns, free and ones to purchase with tons of reviews and then pictures of the items finished who used the pattern, etc. Some how I think I will be on that sight more then I actually crochet.
Just thought I would let you know about my experience there, it is on Main Street in Babylon Village.

Ravelry is awesome, it's Nirvana for knitters and crocheters. It's like a combo Facebook and Library and forums for us, plus vendors for yarns and supplies.

I am on there under the same name.
I've been meaning to get to Village Knitter but can't squeeze it in during my lunch.. do you recall if they take credit cards?

i'm in central nj, so it's a store i won't be able to visit... but sounds like a great place to shop.
i definitely agree about ravelry!!!!!
i'm addicted to that place almost the same way as i'm addicted to LIF. the pretty pictures are enough to keep you coming back for more. i'm "knitfastdiewarm" on ravelry... right now, i have the same avatar, so it would be easy to find me lol

Re: The Village Knitter in Babylon....
I have it in my queue and was wondering if it'd be difficult.
I'm doing a bunch of Spa sets for friends. I have a friend that has a business making soaps so I ordered a bunch of soaps from her, knitted up a bunch of washcloths and soap socks and want to do a couple mitts now.
I'm hoping my energy at night starts to return, because I have a bunch of stuff I've got to make.
