Pi$$ed at the homeowners

OMG, I am so frustrated. We are closing on our current house on June 17 and were going to move in with the inlaws (I know-cue the Jaws music) to pass the time until our June 26 closing on our new house. Thereafter, we were going to live with them another month while we did major work on our new house. I was already getting the hives at the thought of living with them for this long. Now, we just got a call from our lawyer- the sellers want to push back the closing July 7-- then we have another 6 weeks from that point of being homeless!! Chat Icon Chat Icon So annoying- they KNEW when we wanted to close and had all this time to pack and find another place! Ugh!!!! Why???
Thanks for listening!

Re: Pi$$ed at the homeowners

I can definately feel your pain! I hope they stick to the new date.

We went through a nightmare with our seller a few years ago - first agreed to a Feb. 28 closing, didn't do squat about making her own relocation plans and pushed to the end of March, then finally closed the end of April when our lawyer threatened to sue Chat Icon

The worst part was we were living in MA, married for about 6 months, when I accepted a job down here because we were looking to relocate near DH's family. I had Nov - Feb in the corporate apt. and had to get out Feb. 20 to make room for a new incoming VP they'd promised it to. Then had to live with DH's grandmother - an hour away from my job, for the next two months. All the while he was still in MA becuase his job required a home office and he needed a home to work from so he stayed there with our furniture since the rent was cheaper than putting everything into storage. 6 months of driving back and forth every weekend!

Re: Pi$$ed at the homeowners

this happened to us to! The sellers had pushed an early close and all of a sudden got flaky and we ended up closing a month after they said they wanted to.

we had to live with family during that time too. It ***** while it is happening, but when you look back, it's like a blink of an eye.

Re: Pi$$ed at the homeowners

it stinks- but I would try to look at the bright side- you will have a little bit of extra money to put towards buying things you need for the new house

Re: Pi$$ed at the homeowners

I feel your pain- we closed on May 12 and are renting back from the new owners until June 11 and then we are truly homeless with no where to go. We haven't even found a new home yet and not even in-laws to bunk with. We are going to have one expensive hotel bill for a few months.
Its so frustrating selling one home and buying another- the timing never works!Chat Icon
